Can I check my own credit report?

Yes, you can check your credit record and credit rating with credit reference agencies such as TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. You can usually do this for free, however some agencies my charge an ongoing fee or subscription cost to access their full services. 

The credit reference agencies can explain what positive and negative factors are impacting your score and make useful suggestions on how you might improve your credit status. They will also tell you what to do if you believe the information within the report is incorrect and how to dispute this.
